Man Dies In Plane Crash In Sarnia

One man is dead after a small, two-person airplane crashed in a corn field in Sarnia.

The Sarnia Police Service says on Saturday around 11:45am, emergency crews responded to the field north of London Line near Brigden Rd.

Police say the pilot, a man in his 50s, was found dead in the wreckage. No one else was on board the plane at the time of the crash.

Transport Canada has been called to assist with the investigation.

Police say no further details will be released until the investigation is complete.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
