Labour Day Affecting Chatham-Kent Services

With Labour Day Monday, a number of service changes are coming to Chatham-Kent.

Municipal offices, libraries, public pools and arenas are closed. Chatham Memorial Arena will be open, but only to pre-rented parties.

Chatham-Kent Transit will also not run on Monday.

If you're looking for something to do, the Thames Art Gallery, Chatham-Kent Museum, Milner House and Ridge House Museum will all be open Monday afternoon. The Box Office will be closed.

Municipal officials are also pushing back garbage collection by one day. The Harwich and Wallaceburg Transfer Stations, as well as the Chatham Leaf and Yard Depot will all be closed.

Chatham-Kent's Health and Family Services building will be closed on Labour Day, as well as the Employment Resource Centres on Dufferin Ave. in Wallaceburg.

Over at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, routine x-rays, EKGs, and ultrasounds will not be available at either the Chatham or Wallaceburg campuses.

Outpatient services, Health Records, and Patient Appointment offices will all be closed as well.

The Elston Pharmacy in Chatham will also be closed on Labour Day, along with the Oncology/Chemotherapy Department.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
