Dresden House Fire Under Investigation

The fire that destroyed a home in Dresden is under investigation.

Fire crews from Dresden responded to 173 Brown St. around 5pm Monday morning after receiving several 911 calls from the public.

Officials say the home was fully engulfed in flames by the time they arrived. A lot of smoke was also billowing from the property, forcing most of the firefighters to wear breathing apparatuses.

Firefighters from Tupperville were also called in to help fight the blaze, which was difficult to control due to the hot weather. Crews were at the scene for three hours, battling the fire and putting out hotspots.

Damage to the home, and to homes on either side, is estimated at $150,000.
