UPDATE: Kingsville Crash Cuts Power, Power Restored

Hydro One says a crash involving a dump truck is to blame for a large scale power outage across Essex County and parts of Chatham-Kent.

The crash in Kingsville at 9:42am Thursday morning, knocked out a transmission line affecting the distribution of 140 MW of power.

Over 23,000 customers in Kingsville, Leamington, Wheatley, Tilbury, Essex and Belle River lost their power. That doesn't include customers who get their power from other distributors.

Hydro One now says power was restored by 11:15am.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
