Dead Body Found In W'Burg Fire (Gallery)

Chatham-Kent police are investigating after a dead body was found in an apartment on Nelson St. in Wallaceburg.

Emergency crews found the body while they were responding to a fire at a residence just before 4am Tuesday.

Officials have been at the scene ever since. Around 30 residents could be seen standing at the side of Nelson St., exchanging hugs as they waited to return inside.

Nelson St. will remain closed between James St. and Wellington St. as the investigation continues. The Ontario Fire Marshal is expected to attend the scene.

There is no further word on any other injuries or how much damage resulted from the blaze.
