School Bus Driver Killed In Crash

Provincial police say a woman is dead after a crash involving a school bus north of London.

Middlesex OPP say the school bus was heading west on Twelve Mile Rd. between Adelaide St. N and Highbury Ave. just after 9:15am on Tuesday when it crashed into a tree.

"The bus appears to have struck the north side shoulder of the gravel road, then corrected and crossed the roadway where it struck a tree on the south side," says Constable Liz Melvin. "After the impact of hitting the tree the bus rolled onto its passengers side."

The bus driver, a 63-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Melvin say no children were on board the bus at the time.

Police closed Twelve Mile Rd. between Adelaide St. N and Highbury Ave. for their investigation. It reopened just after 2pm.
