Charge Laid After Serious Crash

A 37-year-old man is now charged with careless driving after a cyclist was struck by a vehicle in Chatham.

Police say the accused was driving his car at around 9pm on October 3, when he hit a 52-year-old Chatham man who was riding a bike at the intersection of Queen St. and Park Ave. W.

The cyclist was airlifted to a hospital in London with life-threatening injuries. Officers say he's still there, in critical condition.

At this point, no names have been released.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
