Maroons Raise Over $3K For Breast Cancer

The Chatham Maroons were seeing pink during their 4-1 win Sunday night against Strathroy.

The team has raised $3,171 through their pink jersey auction, to support the Canadian Cancer Society. They also raffled off other pink hockey items.

Members of the Breast Buddies were in attendance for a special pre-game ceremony Sunday. The group of breast cancer survivors-turned dragon boat racers promote awareness of quality of life after breast cancer diagnosis.

The Chatham Maroons have raised over $13,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society over the past four years.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
