Indians Eliminate Blue Jays From Post Season

The season has ended for the Toronto Blue Jays after being eliminated in a 3-0 shutout to the Cleveland Indians in Game 5 of the ALCS.

Carlos Santana and Coco Crisp hit home runs for Cleveland, which won the series 4-1.

In his second major league start, rookie Ryan Merritt retired the first ten Jays he faced, and left with one out in the fifth, after giving up his second hit of the game.

Toronto starter Marco Estrada gave up three runs (two earned) on five hits, and had seven strikeouts in six innings.

The Indians now advance to the World Series to take on the eventual National League champion on Tuesday in Cleveland.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
