Charges Laid After Serious Crash

A 48-year-old Chatham woman is charged with stunt driving and careless driving in connection with a crash that sent her to a London hospital with life threatening injuries.

Police say the woman has since been transferred back to Chatham where she's still receiving medical care.

Officers say the woman was driving at a high rate of speed on Pinehurst Line shortly after midnight on September 28 when she lost control of the vehicle and drove it off the road into a hydro pole.

A 38-year-old man from Richmond Hill was also in the vehicle at the time of the crash, but he was treated at the hospital in Chatham hospital and later released.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
