Lieutenant Governor Talks Rural Ontario In CK

Ontario's Lieutenant Governor is paying a rare visit to Chatham-Kent Tuesday.

The Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell arrived in Chatham just before 3pm. There she joined municipal officials, including Mayor Randy Hope and Chief Administrative Officer Don Shropshire for a tour of Truly Green Farms on Bloomfield Rd.

The Lieutenant Governor will then make her way to the Chatham Capitol Theatre, where she'll sit in on a roundtable discussion regarding community sustainability and the economy.

The day will be capped off with dinner at the Retro Suites Hotel, where Dowdeswell will discuss the Visionaries Prize with "young, innovative and creative thinkers."

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
