Pre-Trial Close For CK Cop

A Chatham-Kent police officer accused of sexual assault should hear about his pre-trial date soon.

Agents representing Constable Kenneth Miller appeared in a Chatham courtroom today, requesting more time to have discussions with the Crown. Miller was formally charged with sexual assault in August, in connection with an incident that took place in the summer of 2015.

However, Ontario's Crown Law Office has laid out specific instructions to set a pre-trial date in one week's time. The Crown says they've been trying to contact Miller's lawyer since the matter last appeared in court.

Miller's case will be back in court on November 9, 2016 at 9am, where lawyers will try to work out a date for the pre-trial.
