Hwy. 401 Closure Results In Charges

The OPP have now charged a 50-year-old Michigan driver, following a closure on Hwy. 401 between Ridgetown and Tilbury last week.

The westbound lanes of the highway from Kent Bridge Rd. to County Rd. 42 were closed around 11am on November 3, after a transport truck hauling a modular home became stuck near Communication Rd., and wasn't able to pass through the construction zone.

The transport truck had to be removed.

A 50-year-old Michigan man is charged with failing to maintain daily log, fail to surrender a completed daily inspection report, driving with too wide of a load, driving with "over length combination of vehicles," and interfering with traffic.

The highway between Kent Bridge Rd. and Queens Line was closed for several hours to allow for the safe removal of the transport truck.
