Structure Fire Causes Over $100K In Damages

A structure fire in Dresden is estimated to have caused over $100,000 in damages.

Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services say on Saturday around 7:15pm, fire crews responded to a two-story detached building on Richmond St. in Dresden.

Firefighters were able to stop the flames from spreading but one home in the vicinity saw minor damage.

No injuries were reported. The building is estimated to have about $100,000 worth of damages, and the contents lost are estimated at $30,000.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
