Cyclist Takes Off After Taking Woman's Purse

Chatham-Kent police are asking for the public's help to track down a suspect after a 59-year-old woman was robbed in Chatham.

Police say the woman was walking on Taylor Ave. at around 2:30pm Monday afternoon when a man grabbed her purse from her shoulder and took off on a bicycle.

The woman was thrown to the ground as a result of the incident, but didn't require medical attention.

The suspect is described as a young white man and was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, army pants, and a black coat. He was last seen heading north on Taylor Ave.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
