Man Bites Homeowner During Break-In

Police have made an arrest after a man broke into a home and was found locked up in a closet.

Investigators say the man forced his way into a neighbour's home in Wheatley at around 8pm Monday night, but once he was inside, he was confronted by the homeowner. During that time, the man bit the homeowner's finger.

Police say during the struggle, the homeowner's wife was able to run across the street and get two of her other neighbours to come over to help out. They all worked together to hold the man in a closet until police arrived.

The homeowner was taken to the hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.

A 41-year-old Wheatley man was also taken to hospital, and is now charged with break and enter and assault. He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
