Santa Claus Comes To Tilbury

The Tilbury Santa Claus parade is just one part of a busy weekend in the town.

The theme this year is "Christmas in Legoland."

"The Santa Claus Parade is the big kickoff on Friday night," says committee Chairman Gerry Harvieux. "We're also having special sales all day with the merchants, a tree lighting ceremony, roasting marshmallows or making s'mores at Carricks Corner. It's a whole lot of fun."

The parade gets underway at 7pm and goes down Queen St.

"The parade's quite lengthy. Be prepared to stand with your children for about an hour, so dress them good for the weather," says Harvieux. "Then of course afterwards, you can come to the Fire Hall and meet with Santa, and the kids can tell him their Christmas wishes."

The fun continues on Saturday, too.

"There's Shop the Neighbourhood all day with the merchants, we have free horse and carriage rides downtown, face painting, cotton candy, it's a whole atmosphere," says Harvieux.
