Thieves Score Sports Equipment In Chatham

Chatham-Kent police say a large amount of sports equipment has been taken from a Chatham business.

Officers say someone broke into Playback Sports on Richmond St. sometime overnight Thursday, causing $1,000 in damages.

Once inside they took a cash box as well as a number of hockey and baseball items. These include hockey sticks, hockey laces and tape, as well as baseball batting gloves. A full list of the stolen items can be found below.

The estimated value of the stolen goods was around $2,000. Anyone with information is asked to contact Chatham-Kent police or Crime Stoppers.

The items taken:

- Easton hockey sticks – both Synergy 20 and Synergy 60 brands – only right handed sticks were stolen

- Elite pink hockey laces

- Hockey tape (white, pink and clear)

- Cutter football gloves – various colours and sizes

- Rawlings baseball batting gloves – various colours and sizes

- Reebok 20K hockey bags – upright models with wheels – black and grey in colour – both Jr 32” and Sr 37” sizes were stolen

- Easton Jr hockey bag with wheels – black and white in colour

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
