Windsor Pair Charged Following Police Pursuit

A man and a woman from Windsor are facing charges, after a small pursuit ended with a collision involving a police cruiser in Chatham.

Police say it all started when they responded to a call of a break-and-enter in progress at a home near Finn Line, just before 7pm, Sunday.

Officers were able to locate and follow a black van, they believe the suspects were driving. They say it had switched off its headlights.

Officers deployed a stop stick on Creek Rd., but the van kept driving, and drove right into a police cruiser on Lacroix St. in Chatham, before coming to a halt.

Police say the driver and passenger attempted to flee on foot. Two suspects were arrested a short distance away.

Investigators say the van was reported stolen in Fletcher, and full of property.

There were no injuries, but both vehicles had to be towed from the scene with significant damage.

Charged with property-related offences is a 35-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man, both from Windsor.
