Search Turns Up Cocaine

Chatham-Kent police say they've taken about $5,300 worth of cocaine and a suspected drug dealer off of the streets.

Police say they found the drugs at around 8:30am Monday, when they were searching a grey van with unauthorized licence plates that pulled into a parking lot on Payne St. in Chatham.

When the driver was being searched, officers say they found about 53 grams of cocaine on him.

A 38-year-old man has been charged and was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.
