Porchlight Campaign Hopes For Big Draw

Tonight marks a big milestone in the Chatham Goodfellows' annual fundraising efforts.

The group's Porchlight campaign will see volunteers going door to door looking for donations Monday night. Last year the initiative raised over $40,000 towards the group's Christmas toy and food fundraising efforts.

But the Goodfellows' Tim Mifflin says they never set a goal.

"We just rely upon the generosity of the citizens of Chatham-Kent. Every year we seem to exceed the previous years, but keep in mind we seem to have more people in need," says Mifflin.

Volunteers will gather at Chatham's Spirit and Life Centre tonight, setting off at 5:30pm.
