Porchlight Campaign Totals Increase Again

For the third year in a row, donations are up for the Chatham Goodfellows' annual Porchlight Campaign.

Volunteers went door to door last night and managed to collect an estimated $41,900 in cash -- that's $1,900 more than they collected in 2015.

Chatham-Kent residents also generously donated toys and non-perishable food to support the Goodfellows' effort to ensure “No Child Without A Christmas." This year, the Goodfellows managed to fill more than 130 banana boxes.

The money that was collected will be used to purchase toys and food that will be distributed in the Goodfellows' Christmas baskets.

The toys will be delivered on December 20 while the packing and delivery for the Christmas baskets takes place on December 21.
