Windsor Men Charged In Assault At Tilbury ONroute Centre

Two men from Windsor are facing charges after another man was injured at a Hwy. 401 ONroute Centre in Tilbury.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Monday around 6:30am, officers were called to the rest area on the eastbound side of the highway, after a 48-year-old Windsor man was assaulted. He was taken to hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries and was later released.

As a result, two men from Windsor, aged 27 and 26, have been charged with aggravated assault. The 27-year-old man is also charged with two counts of breach of probation.

Both men were held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Police say an investigation is ongoing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
