Maroons Down Flyers In OT

The Chatham Maroons edged the Leamington Flyers 2-1 in overtime on Thursday.

After no scoring in the first period, Liam Hogan scored 4:09 into the second to make it 1-0 for Leamington. Bryce Yetman scored for Chatham in the third to tie the game and force OT.

Ethan Sarfati scored the game winner for the Maroons 2:02 into extra time.

"We didn't get the start we wanted... In the second period, they really started clogging the neutral zone and we really couldn't get through it," says Sarfati. "Just before the third, coach just told to get our legs going and start moving the puck more. We did and things just opened up."

The Flyers head to Lambton Shores on Saturday to take on the Predators at 7:30pm. And then on Sunday, the Maroons are at home against the LaSalle Vipers at 4pm.
