No Street Parking Please

Try to avoid parking on municipal streets if possible.

That's the plea from officials at the Chatham-Kent Public Works Department as their snow removal crews prepare for another winter storm.

Environment Canada is expecting the area to receive up to 10 cm (4 inches) of snow or freezing rain starting Friday night and lasting into Saturday morning.

As a result, public works crews are asking drivers to minimize their street parking so that snowplows will have enough room to properly clear the roads.

A parking ban is not currently in effect, but the municipality could issue one if a heavier-than-expected snowfall dumps on the area tonight.
