Home James Prepares For Big Rush

Officials with Chatham's designated driver service Home James can't seem to pinpoint why they're seeing decreased ridership this year.

Yet, as Program Coordinator Jodie Hogg explains, they're seeing about half the patrons they saw this time last year.

"It's definitely something we'd like to know. We have no idea why numbers are down with volunteers as well as the rides," says Hogg.

But they're expecting a big turnaround come New Year's Eve. That's why they need as many volunteers available as possible.

"New Year's definitely is our busiest time of the year. Not sure what this weekend's going to bring, but definitely with New Year's we expect a lot of calls," says Hogg.

Home James will be running December 23 and December 24, as well as New Year's Eve, which falls on a Saturday this year.
