LHIN Purchases Healthcare Transportation For Walpole Island

Patients on Walpole Island have been taking advantage of a new van courtesy of the Erie St. Clair LHIN.

The purchase was part of a project worth $500,680 to better address healthcare transportation needs in the Erie St. Clair region. Four vans went to Lambton Elderly Outreach, and one each to the Community Support Centre of Essex County and Family Service Kent.

“The Erie St. Clair LHIN investment into local transportation services shows our dedication to ensuring that people can access the care they need. We are happy to see these new vans in circulation and look forward to continuing our work with CareLinks and other health transportation partners,“ says interim LHIN CEO Ralph Ganter.

In addition to the new vans, the LHIN is also using funding to improve and enhance their CareLink scheduling software and procedures.
