Man And Woman Arrested After Police Chase

A man and woman from Windsor have been arrested following a police chase that ended with officers using a spike belt in Eastern Ontario.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Wednesday around 6pm, officers located a Toyota Camry that was heading east on Hwy. 401 near Quinte West.  The occupants of the vehicle were reportedly wanted on outstanding arrest warrants for robbery in Windsor and Chatham-Kent.

Officers attempted to conduct a roadside stop after the vehicle exited off of Hwy. 401 at Marysville, but the vehicle failed to stop and a police chase ensued. Police deployed a spiked belt on Deseronto Rd. and were able to successfully stop the vehicle.

As a result, a 31-year-old man  and a 38-year-old woman have been arrested. Neither was injured, but the man was taken to hospital to be treated for a medical issue.

Police have not released if any charges have been laid at this time.
