One Dead Following Single-Vehicle Crash

A section of South Talbot Rd in Kingsville has reopened following a crash that killed a 23-year-old driver.

It happened around 9am Saturday.  Emergency crews responded to an area off South Talbot Rd between Essex County Rds 18 and 5.  Ontario Provincial Police spokesman Sgt. Jim Root said a single vehicle was driving northbound when it failed to negotiate a turn, lost control and go off the road into a wooded area.

The driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.  South Talbot Rd was closed for several hours so investigators could gather information and determine what happened.

The driver's name has not been released since police are trying to contact loved ones.  Additional details will be released at that time.
