Concerns Raised At Budget Meeting

The second night of public consultations brought out some residents to the Blenheim High School.

A few people told BlackburnNews.com that they had yet to hear about what's being proposed in the municipal budget, therefore could not comment.

However, one attendee, Duncan O'Brien, says he has concerns regarding the lack of jobs produced by the mayor's trips to China. He also raises issue with the taxpayer cost of those trips.

"We were going to have 500 job here within four or five years,"says Duncan. "I haven't heard of him tell of one, let alone 500."

O'Brien adds going forward he would like to see more accountability regarding the spending of taxpayer dollars.

There is one more public meeting to be held, this time in Chatham. It starts  at 4:30pm Thursday evening at the Active Lifestyle Centre.
