UPDATE: OPP Confirms Two Dead in House Fire

Ontario Provincial Police in Lambton have confirmed the deaths of two people in a Sunday morning house fire.

The OPP said the blaze began around 2:30am at a house on Marthaville Rd. between Aberfeldy and Langbank Lines  in Dawn-Euphemia Township.   Neighbours who were awakened noticed the home fully engulfed with flames.

Earlier reports indicated that two people had died in the fire.  OPP confirmed just after 7pm that two bodies were found in the home.  The identities of the deceased have not yet been released.

The investigation had forced the Lambton OPP to close Marthaville Rd. in that area and it was closed for much of Sunday.  It has since been reopened.

The Ontario Fire Marshal's Office has taken over the bulk of the probe and investigators were still on the scene Sunday night.  The OPP has secured the property.
