UPDATE: Special Weather Statement for Tuesday

Southwestern Ontario could be slipping and soaked on Tuesday.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the entire region, including the following areas:

  • Windsor - Leamington - Essex County
  • Chatham-Kent - Rondeau Park
  • London - Parkhill - Eastern Middlesex County
  • Strathroy - Komoka - Western Middlesex County
  • Rodney - Shedden - Western Elgin County
  • St. Thomas - Aylmer - Eastern Elgin County
The weather agency says a low pressure area will bring significant precipitation to the region.  The latest indications suggest that freezing rain is possible early Tuesday before changing over to rain.

Poor travelling conditions are expected in areas that receive freezing precipitation.  There remains some uncertainty as to the exact track of the low, which will affect how much freezing rain or rain will fall in a particular location.

Travel in the area may be difficult Tuesday.
