Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex.
The rain is expected to start early Tuesday morning and could be heavy at times.
The region is expected to get rainfall amounts of up to 35mm (1.38 in) by Tuesday night.
Forecasters say the frozen ground could also cause some issues because the soil won't be able to absorb as much rainfall as it normally can. Because of that, heavy downpours could cause flash flooding and pooling on the roads.
There could also be a brief period of freezing rain overnight or very early Tuesday morning before the temperature rises above the freezing mark.
