New Student Centre At Thames Campus

Students at the St. Clair College Thames Campus in Chatham have a new $1.6-million student centre.

Student Council President Matt Patterson says the 14,000 sq ft space has taken nearly three years to build but it's finally here.

Patterson says the campus feels more and more like a community every day, adding it "gives students an opportunity to bond and socialize with peers and classmates."

The student centre has pool tables, table tennis, a bar, a lounge, a patio and a board room.

"It sticks in their memory and is a significant factor when they're deciding their post-secondary plans," says College President Pattti France, adding it'll help attract students to the campus.

Board Chair Dan Wilson says the centre creates a wonderful atmosphere for students.

"It's truly an amazing place where students can interact outside the walls of a classroom," he says.
