Maroons Top Lincolns 7-2

A strong third period pushed the Chatham Maroons to a 7-2 victory over the St. Marys Lincolns on Thursday.

Noah Bushnell scored the only goal of the first period for Chatham, but the Lincolns scored in the second to tie the game 1-1 going into the third.

Nolan VandenBoorn and Bobby Harrison scored in the first six minutes of the final frame to put Chatham back in the lead, but St. Marys scored again minutes later to put them within one point. Austin Thompson, Teddy McGeen, Brendan D`Agostino and Jake O'Donnell scored back-to-back goals in the final minutes to give Chatham a five point advantage for the win.

Chatham also outshot St. Marys 59-34.

The Maroons are in Lambton Shores on Saturday to face off against the Predators at 7:30pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
