Dresden Makes Cottage Life List

A special honour for Dresden from Cottage Life.

The town made their list of eight top secret beautiful hamlets in Ontario.

Chatham-Kent councillor Joe Faas was mayor of Dresden for eight years before amalgamation, and thinks it will help tourism.

"If you're on the list I'm sure people will say 'Let's see what Dresden has to offer'" says Faas. "I think the activities that Dresden does provide, the races and the slots, Uncle Tom's Cabin, there's things for people to do when they do get here."

But Faas also gives credit to the the town's horticultural society.

"If you look at the improvements that's been made in Dresden over the last several years, community groups sort of banded together and beautified the town. Made those areas what were barren, full with trees, and shrubs, and flowers."

Cottage Life cites Uncle Tom's Cabin as one of the main draws for visitors to the town. To see the full article, click here.
