Collision on Highway 401 near Merlin Rd. (Photo courtesy of Chatham-Kent OPP)Police have reopened the westbound lanes of Hwy. 401 after a single-vehicle crash west of Chatham.
The Ontario Provincial Police say on Friday around 3pm, a commercial motor vehicle sustained a tire blowout at Merlin Rd., which caused it to crash into the guardrail. The vehicle then came to a rest in a roadside ditch.
The westbound lanes were closed at Bloomfield Rd. for around 90 minutes while a tow truck cleared the scene.
No injuries have been reported and no charges have been laid.
