Robbery Suspect Arrested In Thamesville

Chatham-Kent police say the K9 unit helped them track down a robbery suspect in Thamesville.

Officers say a man wearing a black hoodie and some black gloves walked into the Mac's Convenience Store on Victoria St. just before midnight Monday, confronted the store employee with a weapon, and demanded cash.

Police say the man was wearing the sweater backwards with two eye-holes cut out of it so that he could see.

Once he received the money, the man fled the store on foot.

Officers say thanks to "excellent teamwork" between frontline officers, the K9 unit, and the store employees, they were able to track down a suspect at a home in Thamesville and arrested him.

A 29-year-old Thamesville man is now charged with robbery, wearing a disguise with intent, and two counts of theft.

He's being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
