Man Airlifted To Hamilton After Tractor Fire

A Chatham man is being treated for serious injuries at the Hamilton Burn Unit after a tractor flipped on top of him and caught fire.

Police say it happened at a property on Grand Ave. E Monday afternoon.

Officers say the man was using the tractor to remove an old pole from the ground when it flipped on top of him and started leaking gasoline.

The gas caught fire when it reached the hot engine.

Once the man was freed, he was rushed to the hospital in Chatham before he was airlifted to Hamilton for further treatment.

Police are still investigating.
