There's a new CEO at the Erie St. Clair Local Health Integration Network.
Ralph Ganter is the new face of the LHIN and says he has a vision and some big goals to complete over the next year.
"We have a significant transition that's taking place between ourselves and the CCAC and the aim is to make this as seamless and easy as possible for both staffs," he says.
Ganter has more than 30 years of health care experience and has been interim CEO since Gary Switzer suddenly left almost a year ago.
He says he's also keeping an close eye on hospital occupancy and patient re-admissions.
The LHIN serves more than 636,000 people in Chatham-Kent, Sarnia-Lambton and Windsor-Essex and has an annual budget of over $1-billion.
Ganter says he wants to keep patient care top of mind.
"With this transition we have to make sure that patient care isn't affected," he says. "Some people are getting home care services or any other types of services that are provided that it's absolutely seamless and they don't notice a difference."
