Provincial police shut down the highway for a couple of hours Thursday morning as they cleaned up a transport truck rollover.
The OPP say the tractor trailer was forced off the road by high winds at around 2:45pm Wednesday afternoon, causing it to roll over onto its side.
The vehicle suffered extensive damage, but the driver walked away without any serious injuries.
Local runners will lace up this weekend in support of cancer research.
Over 40 candidates are competing for a spot on the Walpole Island First Nation band council in the upcoming election on Saturday, September 19.
The event was originally planned to commemorate Corunna almost becoming the capital of Canada.
A meet the candidates night is planned on Monday, September 21 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Maawn Doosh Gumig Community and Youth Centre.
The series will bring both aspiring and established business owners together on Tuesday evenings at the Maawn Doosh Gumig Community Centre.
Gates for the three-day fair will open at the Wyoming Fair Grounds on Main Street on Friday, September 18, at 5 p.m., with opening ceremonies beginning at 7 p.m.
