Natural Gas Bills Set To Increase

Local residents can expect to pay more for natural gas starting next month.

Union Gas announced on Thursday that its residential customers in southern Ontario will see an annual net increase of about $20, which represents an increase of 2.5% on their natural gas bill.

"It's important to note that overall, natural gas remains the most affordable and reliable clean-energy solution over the long-term for homes and businesses," says Jim Redford, vice-president, business development, storage and transmission, for Union Gas.

Union Gas has received approval from the Ontario Energy Board to change the rates, which will come into effect April 1.
