Charge Laid After WB Hwy. 401 Crash

Chatham-Kent OPP have charged a Michigan man in connection with a crash that shut down the westbound Hwy. 401 near Thamesville Tuesday night.

Officers say their investigation showed that a transport truck driver lost control of his vehicle at around 5:30pm Tuesday and rolled it onto its side, blocking both of the westbound lanes.

The driver was treated for minor injuries and the highway was closed for several hours as crews worked to clean up the scene.

A 65-year-old man from Port Huron, Michigan is now charged with careless driving.
