Local School Boards Release Sunshine Lists

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board and the Lambton Kent District School Board have both released their annual “Sunshine List” of those earning over $100,000.

Superintendent of Education Joy Badder topped the list for the Lambton Kent District School Board, making $229,494.15 in 2016, while Director of Education Jim Costello took home $205,075.52.

Other notable earners in the school board include Superintendent of Business Brian McKay who earned $159,219.06 last year, and Superintendent of Education David Doey who made $159,968.64.

The number of LKDSB employees earning over $100,000 increased last year to 149 from 141 in 2015.

And for the St. Clair Catholic District School Board, Director of Education Daniel Parr earned the most in 2016 at $206,000.08, followed by Associate Director of Corporate Services James McKenzie who made $202,553.

Superintendents of education Deborah Crawford and Frank Leddy both pulled in $176,133.10, while Superintendent of Education Laura Callaghan earned $167,526.88.

The number of SCCDSB staff members on the Sunshine List dropped significantly from 116 in 2015 to 80 in 2016. Director Dan Parr says that's the result of a couple of additional weeks being reported in 2015 due to a calendar anomaly.
