Spitfires Take Series Lead With Win Over Knights

The Windsor Spitfires have the advantage in their OHL opening round playoff series after beating the Knights 3-1 on Tuesday. Windsor now leads the best of seven series two games to one.

Julius Nattinen kicked off the game with a goal 12:25 into the first period to give Windsor a 1-0 advantage.

Janne Kuokkanen scored early in the second to tie things up for London, but Gabriel Vilardi and Cristiano DiGiacinto both scored before the third to put the Spits back in the lead. Windsor was able to hold London back in a scoreless final frame to earn the win.

The Spitfires also outshot the Knights 18-16.

The two teams face off for Game 4 on Thursday at the WFCU Centre. The puck drops at 7:05pm.
