Cannabis Lounge Planned for Chatham

A cannabis lounge is coming to Chatham.

The owners of "The Other Side" are currently working on finding a suitable location to the lounge.

"There is no set location at this point, we had some unfortunate construction delays," says co-founder and owner Jeff Allen. "We are looking at securing a space by August of this year. Where that will be is yet to be determined."

"To be very clear, we do not sell any cannabis," says Allen. "We simply provide a safe space for patients, advocates, family members, and consumers themselves, to consume and receive education on how to make their consumption for healthy for their lifestyle."

Allen says they're just trying to fill a need in Chatham-Kent.

"We do have over 4,000 medical cannabis patients within the community, and they have been largely ignored as far a creating safe spaces for them to consume. So we're simply just trying to provide a safe space for those folks, while making the function of the lounge work within the community."
