Two Arrested For Allegedly Trafficking Drugs

A 27-year-old man and a 25-year-old female have been arrested for allegedly trafficking drugs.

Chatham-Kent police say early Sunday morning, officers stopped a vehicle in Raleigh Township. The driver, a 27-year-old Chatham man was found to be in violation of his curfew condition.

Police searched the vehicle and found an illegal substance, which led to a more in-depth search.

"A large amount of suspected narcotics, cash, and equipment associated to the sale of narcotics were located," said police in a media release.

As a result, the male driver and female passenger were arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

They were both taken to police headquarters to wait for a bail hearing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
