Man Struck By Vehicle Near Thamesville

A man has been seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle near Thamesville.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service says on Monday around 6am, emergency crews were called to Base Line near Splinter Line after the 42-year-old man was hit while walking near the roadway.

The man was rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries, but his condition has since been upgraded from critical to serious.

It is unknown if any charges will be laid as a result of the collision, and no further information has been released at this time.

Anyone who witnessed a man with a slender build, carrying a stick and wearing a brown coat walking in the area around the time of the collision to contact the CK police Traffic Unit at 519-355-1092.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
