Will Response Times Be Met During Closure Of Highway 40?

Fire and emergency services in Chatham-Kent are working on a plan to ensure response times are met during the closure of Hwy. 40 at Hwy. 401.

Assistant Fire Chief Bob Davidson tells BlackburnNews.com the plan should be finalized in about a week or two.

Davidson says one of the things being discussed is emergency access points on the 401 to respond to crashes and other emergencies.

The Ministry of Transportation says detours to Kent Bridge Rd. and Bloomfield Rd. will be clearly marked.

The Hwy. 40 interchange will be closed at the 401 for about seven months starting April 18 to improve sight lines.

The $62-million work also includes improvements to about 10 km of the eastbound 401.
