Better Have A Permit Before Planning A Fire

'Tis the season for open campfires and toasted marshmallows.

As it starts to feel more and more like summer outside, fire officials in Chatham-Kent are out with reminders to obtain a burn permit before feeling the heat from bylaw enforcement.

Residents can apply for an Open Air Burn Permit -- which serves the Agricultural sector well by allowing for larger and multiple fires -- or a Campfire Permit for warmth, recreation and cooking.

They're available online or at any municipal service centre.
